Women’s Day brings Lisa “Longball” Vlooswyk to Montrêux

RENO, Nev. (July 10, 2014) – To help kick off the region’s only PGA TOUR tournament, Barracuda Championship will host the award-winning golf clinic and fashion event, 'Women’s Day', Sunday, July 27.

Check-in for the premier women’s event in Reno will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Montrêux Golf & Country Club, where attendees can purchase raffle tickets for a Rolex watch, bid on silent auction offerings, and participate in a unique long-drive contest utilizing a ball of wool from sponsor Jimmy Beans Wool.

The show will officially begin at 11:30 a.m. with an interactive golf demonstration from Lisa “Longball” Vlooswyk who holds the Canadian Women’s Long Drive record at 350 yards 2 feet 2 inches. “Lisa Longball” is currently ranked top 4 in the world and will engage the Women’s Day crowd with tips, tricks and anecdotes.

Individual tickets are available for $200 each or $1,600 for a table of eight. Tickets are on sale now, and include a commemorative gift, season passes to the 2014 Reno-Tahoe Open, and two Mirassou Wine Walkpasses. A portion of the day’s proceeds benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada and the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation. Comfy casual attire and comfortable shoes are encouraged.
