RENO, Nev. (AP) — A longtime Reno taxi driver and his disabled wife are suing his ex-employer after he says he was fired in retaliation for complaining about fellow Yellow Cab drivers repeatedly refusing the couple and their service dogs rides from the Reno airport.

Lawyers for James and Melodie Doud filed the discrimination lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Reno on Wednesday alleging violations under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

They accuse Yellow Cab of Reno of engaging in "a pattern of intentional discrimination and bad faith directed at persons with disabilities."

The suit says 60-year-old James Doud was fired in June not because of misconduct but solely as retaliation for complaining about Yellow Cab's failure to follow laws protecting the disabled.

A Yellow Cab official said Thursday they are reviewing the case.

Let it be known that yellow cab just recently settled a law suit of the same nature. Also it seems to be the cabbies of Indian decent that are violating the law. Apparently they say it's against their religion to put dogs in their cab and they don't have the liability insurance to do so, all of which is a big lie in an effort to get out of the hassle of helping people with disabilities. Welcome to America. Now learn the laws, Obey the laws, or GO HOME.
