RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - For the first time in years the total Washoe County Assessed Property Value is going up. New information out Thursday shows $11.4 billion of total real estate in the County for 2013 - up slightly from $11.3 in 2012.
However even though values are on the rise, local governments may not see more tax revenue because of it due to a state abatement process which caps the amount of increases possible.
“And so it might give us a general idea, but until we actually calculate parcel by parcel we won't know what the tax impact is,” Washoe County Treasurer Tammi Davis said.
That review process is expected to be complete by March.
