SAN DIEGO (AP) — Authorities say one person was killed, another is believed missing, and two others were injured when two boats collided on San Diego County's El Capitan Reservoir.

U-T San Diego reports all occupants of both boats were knocked into the water in the crash Thursday evening.

Lifeguard Capt. Nick Lerma says a 16-to 20-foot Ranger bass fishing boat was reportedly moving at a high speed when it hit a smaller, stationary vessel.

Lerma says one person from the Ranger died and a second persona believed to have been on board was missing.

The two male occupants of the smaller boat suffered minor injuries and were taken by paramedics to a San Diego trauma center.

A helicopter search for the missing person was suspended at dark but was expected to resume Friday morning.
