FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — Fresno County authorities say a 10-year-old boy is being treated for injuries after being shot by a pellet gun.

Fresno County sheriff's Lt. John Reynolds says the boy was injured near Hidden Hollow Lane and Quail Mountain Lane around 4pm Friday.

Reynolds says he was treated at the scene and then airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.

KFSN-TV reports the boy suffered a significant injury, but authorities did not immediately release his name and condition.

Reynolds says detectives are assisting with the investigation.
