OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say two passengers have been shot and wounded after someone opened fire at a bus in Oakland.
The shooting occurred shortly after 2 p.m. Monday outside an AC Transit bus traveling along International Boulevard in East Oakland.
Police say that one victim, a man in his 80s, was grazed and another man onboard was also wounded.
Officer Erin Mausz says both victims are hospitalized in stable condition and expected to recover from their injuries.
AC Transit Spokesman Clarence Johnson says following the shooting, the bus driver continued to drive about five away from the scene to get other passengers out of harm's way.
Authorities say windows on both sides of the bus were shattered and it isn't immediately known how many shots were fired.
The shooting is under investigation.
