RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno's first competitive race for mayor in more than a decade has drawn a field of 20 candidates.

One of them is actually named Reno — Charles "Chuck" Reno. Another, Larry Pizorno, is known as the "Wolf Man" because of the wolf pelt he wears on his head to Nevada Wolf Pack football games.

Others seeking to replace outgoing three-term Mayor Bob Cashell include Washoe County Commissioner Marsha Berkbigler and first-term Reno City councilwoman Hillary Schieve

City Clerk Lynette Jones tells the Reno Gazette-Journal it's the biggest field of mayoral candidates since at least the early 1970s.

It's all because of a Nevada Supreme Court decision barring term-limited council members from running for mayor. The decision knocked front-runners Jessica Sferrazza and Dwight Dortch out of the race.

ALL LAW-ABIDING CITIZENS who believe in fair play and Justice have to be disgusted with this gang of disloyal reporters masquerading as media. Why? Their (tv, radio, and paper) maniacal fear and jealousy of THE MAN who took Cashell to the Championship Bracket in last mayor election.. is so diabolical that Satan be jealous. And they ply their rotten trade as if they do not care about the welfare of Reno. This Marine Corps Veteran has 25,000 loyal Renoites who voted for him.. and still want him.. to be mayor. There are not enough votes left for the rest to get themselves out of a hill of beans. Have you seen his name anywhere in the pathetic media? http://www.renocitizen.com/dehne.htm Signed indignantly, Sam DEHNE cc: Joe and his partner
