SUNNYVALE, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a three-alarm fire has caused heavy damage to two homes in a Silicon Valley neighborhood.

The fire in Sunnyvale broke out around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety Capt. Jeffrey Hunter says that it took crews about an hour and a half to contain the blaze, which spread from one house to another.

Hunter says all of the residents inside the homes made it out safely, including one where a child was being cared for at a day care facility.

Hunter says no injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
