CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Three private attorneys have been recommended to succeed retiring Douglas County District Court Judge David Gamble.
The Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection on Tuesday nominated lawyers James Hales and Nathan Tod Young of Minden and Marc Picker of Reno as finalists. They were chosen from a field of seven applicants and after public interviews were conducted Monday.
Names of the finalists are being forwarded to Gov. Brian Sandoval, who will make the appointment. The appointee will have to run for election and win in 2014 to retain the seat.
Gamble is retiring Jan. 6 after 25 years on the bench.
