LAS VEGAS (AP) — A power outage in Las Vegas prompted the early closing of two state agency offices and left more than 700 customers south of the Strip without power for nearly four hours.
Officials for NV Energy say they traced Tuesday morning's problem to construction work near the 215 Beltway and Warm Springs Road.
The utility says the outage was reported at 9:48 a.m. and power was fully restored to the 766 customers affected by about 1:30 p.m.
The state Department of Business and Industry announced shortly before noon the Housing Division and Mortgage Lending Division offices would be closing for the day due to the outage with plans to reopen on Thursday.
