LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say fumes from an illegal drug lab briefly sent five Los Angeles police officers to the hospital.

City News Service says officers answering a disturbance report at a Van Nuys apartment late Sunday night found a naked, screaming man who appeared to be on drugs.

Authorities say five officers became light-headed. They were taken to hospitals, treated and released.

Thirty-seven-year-old Gagan Saini also was treated and arrested on suspicion of manufacturing drugs. He remains jailed Monday.

KNBC-TV says the home contained extract of mimosa root bark and other items that are used to make the psychedelic drug DMT. The station says the drug is known as "businessman's LSD" because its hallucinogenic effects are brief.
