LAS VEGAS (AP) — Protesters say Las Vegas police cited five activists who refused to leave Rep. Joe Heck's office during an immigration demonstration.

Laura Martin of the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada says the incident happened Wednesday, after the Republican congressman's staff called police on the group.

Martin, who was among those cited, says about 50 people came to Heck's office and tried to get inside, but were told the group was too large and needed to stay in the hallway.

She says protesters read aloud stories of constituents in Heck's district who would benefit from immigration reform.

The rally was one of 27 held at congressional offices around the country to urge lawmakers to pass reforms.

Heck's office didn't immediately provide comment Wednesday afternoon.
