ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) — Alameda police are searching for a gunman who shot and injured a 20-year-old Oakland man at a bowling alley.

Officials said Wednesday the shooting occurred around 11 p.m. Friday when the suspect was leaving AMF Southshore Lanes and exchanged words with the victim. The suspect then pulled out a handgun and opened fire, striking the victim three times.

The Oakland Tribune reports the victim suffered bullet wounds to his groin, arm and thigh and was treated at Highland Hospital in Oakland.

Officials say the shooter was last seen in the parking lot fleeing with three other men in two vehicles. The four men are believed to be in their 20s.

Investigators say it's unclear what prompted the confrontation that led to the shooting.
