Bicyclist injured in crash with car on Vegas Strip

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say a 58-year-old bicyclist is critically hurt after the bike he was riding was hit from behind overnight on the Las Vegas Strip.

Las Vegas police say Joseph Palla as taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries after the crash shortly before 12:30 a.m. Friday on Las Vegas Boulevard near the Circus Circus casino.

Police identified the driver of the 2007 Kia Spectra that struck the bicycle as 21-year-old Hasani Washington of Las Vegas.

No charges were immediately filed.

Police closed northbound lanes of the Strip during the investigation.
