CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A.G. Burnett has been named chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board by Gov. Brian Sandoval.
Burnett was appointed to the board in January last year and was elevated to chairman on Wednesday.
Sandoval says his experience on the control board and his relationships with foreign gambling and securities regulators in places like Macau and Singapore will an invaluable asset as Nevada moves toward the next generation of gambling.
Before his appointment to the board, Burnett was deputy chief of the agency's corporate securities division, where he handled all legal matters and oversaw investigations.
He holds a bachelor's degree in international affairs and political science from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law.
