RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a Southern California man has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for making child pornography that was traded online.
The U.S. attorney's office says 33-year-old Peter Ruiz of San Bernardino was sentenced Tuesday on one count of producing child pornography. He pleaded guilty last fall.
Prosecutors said Ruiz sexually abused three boys who lived nearby and documented the abuse with photos and videos that he traded or sold online.
Authorities who searched his computer on Halloween in 2010 say they found more than 6,000 child porn images and more than 600 videos.
In a sentencing memo, prosecutors wrote that Ruiz had expressed no remorse.
