OXNARD, Calif. (AP) — A middle-school science teacher fired after students learned she had appeared in pornographic movies has until Feb. 13 to decide whether to appeal the decision dismissing her from the classroom.

The three-judge Commission on Professional Competence ruled this month that 32-year-old Stacie Halas should not get her job back.

The Los Angeles Times reports Halas can appeal the decision to Ventura County Superior Court. Her lawyer, Richard Schwab, tells the newspaper Halas hasn't decided whether to do so.

On Wednesday, the Oxnard School District Board of Trustees moved to terminate her administrative pay as of Feb. 13.

Halas was fired in April from her job as a science teacher at Haydock Intermediate School in Oxnard after online videos of her in porn were discovered by students and teachers.
