LOS ANGELES (AP) — A lottery player in California missed out on Saturday's $90 million Powerball jackpot, but he still won a record-setting prize.

The California Lottery announced Monday that Joseph Rosas matched five out of six numbers for the drawing, missing just the Powerball number.

It was good enough to earn him $7.6 million, the largest prize for a ticket matching five numbers ever for all draw games.

Officials say 5-of-6 winners typically pay out a few hundred thousand dollars.

Rosas' winning ticket was purchased at the Speedi Mart in Manhattan Beach. The market will get a bonus of about $38,000 — or one half of one percent of the winning amount — just for selling the ticket.
