LAS VEGAS (AP) — A cement truck driver found dead after a crash between his vehicle and a pickup carrying two police officers has been identified as a 44-year-old Las Vegas man.

The Clark County coroner's office says Richard C. Wood died in the collision Wednesday. A cause of death wasn't immediately available.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski says the cement truck crossed the median of Summerlin Parkway near U.S. 95 on the city's west side, hit an oncoming pickup and rolled down a 20-foot embankment.

Wood died at the scene.

Szymanski says the driver and passenger in the unmarked pickup were city police officers. They suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Fox 5 News says it's unclear whether Wood died as a result of the crash or a medical episode.
