Charter school supervisor arrested for sex abuse

LIVERMORE, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a former Northern California charter school supervisor is in custody for allegedly sexually abusing a student.

Officer Steve Goard, a Livermore police spokesman, said Monday that detectives on Friday arrested Jason Quero on suspicion of penetration of a minor with a foreign object and oral copulation of a minor.

Goard says the 30-year-old Quero of Mountain House is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl who attended the Livermore Valley Charter School in 2010 and 2011.

Police say Quero has been released from his employment at the school, where he has worked since 2005. It is not immediately known whether Quero has an attorney.

A statement from the Tri-Valley Learning Corporation, which operates the charter school, said it is cooperating with the police and conducting a simultaneous personnel investigation.

Continued... No Teaching Credentials for 1st grade teacher Stephanie Baxter who just so happened to have connections with Tina Morris. Records from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing state that Mrs. Baxter hadn't passed her C set AS state teaching program leaving her with no credentials and unqualified to teach. Mrs. Baxter, along with Tina Morris denied Special Education testing to one of her students. Instead suggesting to the parents that the student be held back. This particular student was removed from LVCS and enrolled in Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District. Testing was done immediately. An IEP was given after finding specific learning difficulties. Jason Quero was at LVCS at this time. I am unaware whether or not any background check was run through LVCS, but I can guarantee Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District got clearance from the Department of Justice and Live Scan. One needs to question the California Department of Education, Charter Division’s lack of background check and Department of Justice clearance on these individuals prior to them being let loose among hundreds of innocent children. Maybe there needs to be an investigation at the State level.

Continued... Next- and this is a BIG ONE! Goldstein hired Principal Tina Darlene Morris formerly Tina Darlene Kirkland Krattiger Morris of Clovis, NM. Again, no background check was performed. Investigations proved she was fired from her job in New Mexico and she held no current teaching credentials. The ones she displayed on the wall were photocopied with no embossed stamp and conflicting dates. Furthermore, on July 27, 2007, a report was filed with the Livermore Police Department Officer David Martin Badge # 69. Report # 07-00665. Numerous documents provided with the purpose of showing probable cause for investigation into the background, correct identity and possible fraudulent activity of Principal Tina Morris. Documents indicated she was using two separate social security #’s and dates of birth. All information was provided to LVCS board which chose to take no action. No background check allowed more than 600 children to fall prey to this individual! Morris held an assembly to address behavioral problems and publicly humiliated seven middle school students in front of their peers, along with corporal punishment and loss of nutritional breaks for the remaining middle school student body for the following four days. This “Public Humiliation Assembly” was so unethical that media coverage went global! Though she only remained at the school for a year and a half, she has acquired several civil lawsuits against her including punitive damages! She resigned only weeks after the firing of executive director Goldstein. Sources say she was given the ultimatum she either resigns or face charges. To be continued....

Lack of background checks and or teaching credentials has been a regular occurrence for the Livermore Valley Charter School from day one. They do not follow the same guidelines as the school district but rather those of the Charter School division. 2006- No background check was performed with former founder Lon Jeffrey Goldstein who was hired as its $160,000-a-year executive director. Goldstein was fired after a former parent did her own background research. Investigations show that a good part of his financial decisions were for personal gain and not the best interest or welfare of the school. The ex stock broker whom was fired from UBS PAIN WEBBER for money laundering, remained consistent with his unethical business practices at RBC DAINE RAUSCHER, by using funds from LVCS to rebuild his personal portfolio. Mr. Goldstein never disclosed this or the fact that he filed a 2 million dollar bankruptcy only two days prior to being hired as executive director for LVCS. Goldstein supporters were in denial, looking to place blame elsewhere, anywhere, but the public records proved correct. His dismissal came straight from the California Department of Education Charter School Division. To be continued...
