DENVER (AP) — A federal judge has sentenced a Chicago man who forced a plane to divert to Denver to 172 days in jail.

According to the Denver Post, that's the amount of time Marcus Covington has served since his arrest last year on charges of interfering with a flight crew.

Authorities say Covington groped a pregnant woman while she stood waiting to use the restroom, intimidated a flight attendant and spit at police officers after being taken off the plane. The JetBlue flight left New York bound for Los Angeles carrying 150 passengers.
