LAS VEGAS (AP) — Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is the scheduled featured speaker at a renewable energy conference hosted for the seventh year by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid at a Las Vegas Strip resort.
Clinton's speech during Thursday's annual National Clean Energy Summit will come two years after a similar engagement at the same event by her husband, former President Bill Clinton.
It will also mark a return by the former first lady and senator from New York to the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, scene of an April shoe-throwing incident that resulted in the arrest of a 36-year-old Phoenix woman on federal trespassing charges.
The annual conference is co-sponsored the Center for American Progress, the Clean Energy Project, MGM Resorts International and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
