LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities are hunting for a convicted burglar who escaped from an inmate reception center in downtown Los Angeles hours after he was sentenced.

City News Service says 37-year-old Christopher Lee Brown slipped away from the center near the Twin Towers jail Wednesday night.

Authorities say he may have impersonated another inmate.

Earlier that day, Brown was sentenced to four years and eight months in prison for stealing laptop computers and flash drives last year from the Alhambra office of a Southern California hospital chain.

Authorities said the thefts may have compromised the personal information of more than 700,000 patients.
