LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities have identified a man and a woman from Georgia who were hit and killed near the Rio hotel-casino in Las Vegas.

Clark County coroner's officials say 71-year-old Terry Lance Westbrook and 74-year-old Charlotte Westbrook died while trying to cross a street late Friday. Both were from Kennesaw, Georgia.

Police say they were not in a crosswalk at the time, and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver of a dark-colored Nissan sedan fled the scene without stopping.

The 10 p.m. accident is under investigation.
