LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Clark County Commission is honoring an honest cabbie who returned $300,000 in cash to a poker player who forgot the money in a taxi.

Commissioners are set to recognize Gerardo Gamboa at a meeting Tuesday in Las Vegas.

Gamboa found a brown paper bag in the back of his taxi after picking up a passenger from the Cosmopolitan casino on Dec. 23. He thought there were chocolates inside, but found a huge stash instead.

Police were able to track down the rightful owner, who is a professional gambler.

The unidentified man later gave Gamboa a $10,000 reward, and Yellow Checker Star cab company named Gamboa driver of the year.
