LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 25-year-old driver who jumped a curb in Las Vegas earlier this week and seriously injured an 11-year-old boy has turned himself in to police.
Las Vegas police say Tomax Rodrigo surrendered to police about 2 a.m. Wednesday and was booked in the Clark County Detention Center on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident.
Police say the crash happened a little before 9:30 p.m. Monday on East Bonanza Road and North Eastern Avenue.
Authorities say a 1994 Honda Civic was in the middle lane when it veered to the right and went over the curb on the corner of the intersection.
The car struck the boy while he was standing on the sidewalk and left the scene. The boy was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries.
