NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — Police in North Las Vegas are asking for public help to find a driver and a silver Mitsubishi Galant that may have a damaged or missing passenger side view mirror following fatal hit-and-run crash 17 days ago.

Police say officers found 63-year-old William Edward Mazzoccoli fatally injured about 5:30 a.m. Aug. 16 on Las Vegas Boulevard North near East Carey Avenue.

Mazzoccoli died at University Medical Center in Las Vegas.

North Las Vegas police say the vehicle that hit him may have been from the model years 1999 to 2003.

Traffic investigators determined that Mazzoccoli wasn't in a crosswalk when he was struck.
