LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say an FBI agent is hospitalized after being shot while he and other members of a criminal apprehension team were arresting a fugitive in Las Vegas.
FBI Agent Patrick Turner says the agent was wearing a protective vest and is being treated for injuries that don't appear to be life-threatening.
The shooting happened 3 p.m. Tuesday in a neighborhood northeast of downtown Las Vegas.
The injured agent's name wasn't immediately made public.
Las Vegas police Officer Bill Cassell says the agent was taken to University Medical Center.
Cassell says the male fugitive was arrested a short time later.
His name wasn't immediately released, and it's not clear why he was being sought.
