SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — The FBI says it has quashed a notorious street gang in San Jose, arresting more than two dozen of its members since January.

FBI spokesman Peter Lee says two of the members of the group, Sur Santos Pride, were taken into custody near downtown San Jose early Wednesday morning. Twenty-year-old Mario Cardenas and 23-year-old Raphael Camberos were being held on suspicion of numerous gang-related charges, including methamphetamine dealing, racketeering, weapons and conspiracy to commit murder.

Sur Santos Pride is a subset of the Surenos street gang.

An indictment unsealed in San Jose names 27 Sur Santos Pride members.

One defendant, Roberto Martinez, is accused of murder in connection with an October 2011 homicide, though the court documents don't include details about the incident.
