LOS ANGELES (AP) — A German man who masqueraded as a member of the Rockefeller family will stand trial in March on charges that he killed a Southern California computer programmer more than a quarter of a century ago.

The Pasadena Star-News (http://bit.ly/XmHYp3 ) says a March trial date was set Wednesday for Christian Gerhartsreiter. He's pleaded innocent to murdering John Sohus in 1985 in the wealthy Los Angeles suburb of San Marino.

Sohus was the son of Gerhartsreiter's landlady. His bones were found in her backyard in 1994. His wife also vanished and has never been found.

Authorities say the 51-year-old Gerhartsreiter later moved back East, where he posed as Clark Rockefeller, among other identities. He was convicted in 2009 of kidnapping his 7-year-old daughter during a Boston visit and got several years' sentence.
