LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say about a dozen motorized wheelchairs were damaged when a fire started at a Las Vegas medical supply business.

Las Vegas firefighters say they responded about 10 p.m. Wednesday to Academy Medical Equipment, near the intersection of Cheyenne Avenue and Tenaya Way.

They say they found a warehouse filled with smoke and saw water from fire sprinklers flowing out of the building. Officials say the sprinklers helped keep the flames in check until crews could put them out completely.

Investigators say the fire started in a medical scooter and spread to other ones that were parked along a work bench area.

Nobody was injured in the fire, which happened while the business was closed.
