LOS ANGELES (AP) — A disruption of operations at Los Angeles International Airport due to ground fog has ended.
The airport tweeted shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday that the Federal Aviation Administration lifted a ground stop for arriving flights that was put into effect about two hours earlier. Some flights also were diverted east to LA/Ontario International Airport.
The National Weather Service said that despite decent offshore flow dense fog formed over the Los Angeles coastal plain due to a shallow inversion. Forecasters also predicted the fog would not last too long due to the northeast push of air.
