NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — North Las Vegas police say a 15-year-old girl was struck by a car after running across a street to catch the bus.

Authorities say the crash happened about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Allen and Hammer lanes. It wasn't immediately clear how severe the girl's injuries were.

Police say the Cheyenne High School student was crossing the intersection at an angle and ran in front of a car traveling southbound on Hammer.

The driver wasn't injured, but the teen was taken to University Medical Center.

The intersection was shut down during the investigation.
