CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Another inmate has died at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City.
Nevada Department of Corrections officials say 77-year-old Michael Rose died Friday night while being treated for an undisclosed medical condition at the prison's medical facility.
He had been serving a seven- to 20-year sentence for a conviction on attempted sexual assault of a victim under 16 since September 2010.
He was at least the sixth inmate to die at the Carson City prison since October.
According to a memo provided to the state Board of Prison Commissioners earlier this month, at least 31 Nevada inmates have died in prison this year, out of a population of 13,100.
