SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — Sparks police have arrested a man who they say told convenience store employees he was "losing it" before pulling a knife and using it to corral people behind a counter.
Authorities say they arrested 38-year-old Johnnie Ironcloud after the incident that happened about 6 p.m. Tuesday on Pyramid Way.
Police say a man asked for a cab and then asked store staff to call 911. Witnesses say the man grabbed a bottle of alcohol off the shelf and began to drink it before he pulled the knife and began wielding it in front of staff and patrons.
Sparks police say they arrived as the store was being evacuated and detained the man.
Nobody was injured in the encounter.
Ironcloud faces a charge of robbery with a deadly weapon.
