LOS ANGELES (AP) — More than two dozen potential jurors have been bounced from the corruption case against six former part-time Bell council members accused of wrongly drawing six-figure salaries and other perks.

The Los Angeles Times reports jurors filled out questionnaires, and many told the court Tuesday that they are disgusted with the defendants in the case.

Bell is the scandal-ridden Los Angeles suburb where leaders were accused of massive corruption that brought national attention and nearly bankrupted the city.

By midmorning, about 25 had been dismissed from jury duty.

George Cole, George Mirabal, Oscar Hernandez, Luis Artiga, Victor Bello and Teresa Jacobo are facing various corruption charges.

Two other city figures accused of corruption, former City Manager Robert Rizzo and Assistant City Manager Angela Spaccia, are to be tried separately.
