LOS ANGELES (AP) — Two Los Angeles-area fathers have been reunited with their sons whose mother allegedly failed to return them after a trip to Europe.

The Daily News of Los Angeles reports the men and their sons returned home to Southern California during the weekend. Maria Pfeifer was being sought by the FBI and was arrested Dec. 19 in the French town of Divonne les Bains.

Last week a French judge ordered the children, ages 4 and 10, to be returned to their fathers. Last summer, Maria Pfeifer took her children to Europe as part of a court-approved trip but did not return.

Los Angeles County prosecutors have charged her with breaking child custody laws and are seeking her extradition. She faces up to six years in jail if convicted.
