LOS ANGELES (AP) — Family and colleagues are mourning a Los Angeles police officer killed last week in a collision between a patrol car and a truck in Beverly Hills.

Hundreds of uniformed law enforcement officers filled the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on Thursday for Officer Nicholas Choung Lee's funeral.

The 40-year-old officer died at the scene of the crash Friday morning. He leaves a wife and two young daughters.

His partner, a rookie just a few months out of the academy, was hospitalized and later released. The truck driver also was injured.

The collision occurred as the officers were responding to a trouble call.

The crash remains under investigation.
