LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Las Vegas Sands is treating 40 wounded veterans and their families to a three-day holiday vacation.

Chairman and CEO Sheldon Adelson is loaning his private plane to fly the veterans and their families to Las Vegas from the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital in Fort Belvoir, Va.

The group is expected to arrive on Wednesday and depart Saturday morning.

They will enjoy a free stay at the Venetian and Palazzo on the Strip, will be honored with a cookout hosted by Omaha Steaks and will receive tickets to a Tim McGraw and Faith Hill concert.

Armed Forces Foundation president Patricia Driscoll said the trip would help the veterans "deal with the hardships of recovery."
