LAS VEGAS (AP) — Officials say about the number of visitors to Las Vegas was up 2.5 percent in November compared with last year, but gambling tumbled.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority on Thursday said a little more than 3.1 million visitors came to Las Vegas in November.
Room occupancy increased 1.4 percent, to 80 percent, and average hotel room rates went up a little less than 1 percent, to $104 per night.
Meanwhile, Clark County gambling revenues of nearly $672 million were down 13 percent compared with 2011.
Downtown saw gambling revenue drop 17 percent, while the Boulder Strip had an even bigger fall at 26 percent.
The authority says Las Vegas tourism is up 2 percent so far this year.
