BOULDER CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Authorities have arrested a 47-year-old man who they say took a plane on a drunken joyride in Nevada.

Boulder City police say they arrested Paul Michael Weddle Sunday afternoon on suspicion of piloting an aircraft while under the influence, taking a vehicle without the owner's consent and making a false statement to an officer.

Police say an employee with sightseeing company Scenic Airlines reported someone stole the plane and had been taking off and landing repeatedly at the airport.

Authorities say Weddle was arrested after a struggle and had a blood alcohol level of 0.13 percent.

Weddle reportedly told police he took the plane to complete the take-off and landing portions of his pilot's license. Federal Aviation Administration records show a Paul Michael Weddle from Henderson has a pilot's license.
