LOS ANGELES (AP) — Prosecutors have charged a 26-year-old man with murder in the death of a woman who fell from a car onto a crowded Los Angeles freeway and was hit by several other vehicles.
Ricardo Jimenez was charged Tuesday with one count of murder in the death of Maria Josefina Jimenez.
The North Hollywood man had surrendered to authorities last weekend after learning they were searching for him.
He has not been arraigned and it wasn't immediately clear if he had retained an attorney.
Witnesses told police the 22-year-old woman fell, jumped or was pushed from the car on the 210 Freeway on Thursday morning. Prosecutors say she fell.
Authorities say the two were dating but did not comment further on their relationship.
