ELKO, Nev. (AP) — Authorities say an angry man ended up with a large knot on his head after blowing off some steam in an Elko holding cell.
Elko County Sheriff Jim Pitts says 29-year-old Jacob Valline started screaming and bashing his head against shatterproof glass wall in the county jail early Wednesday morning.
He kept striking the enclosure until the shatterproof glass cracked, prompting officers to add jail damage to his charges.
Police tell The Elko Daily Free Press that Valline was "very intoxicated" when officers initially arrested him for interfering with their arrest of another man in the downtown corridor.
Officers say Valline was later apologetic for his actions.
Booking reports show he was released on $5,637 bail.
