ORANGE, Calif. (AP) — An explosion strong enough to blow the door off a garage has killed a man at an Orange County home.

Authorities tell the Orange County Register (http://bit.ly/1sJkJbA ) they found the body of 47-year-old Erik Christensen in the garage of the home in Orange on Thursday night.

Several neighbors reported hearing a loud blast shortly before 11:30 p.m. The explosion blew out the garage door, littered the area with glass from broken windows and started a fire that was quickly extinguished.

Police Sgt. Sean O'Toole says several people were inside the home but they weren't injured.

A neighbor, Masood Khan, says Christensen lived there with his parents and adult son.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
