RENO, Nev. (AP) — A 27-year-old Nevada man who robbed a gas station in Stead just 12 days after he'd been released from prison is headed back there for up to 26 years.

Washoe District Judge Patrick Flanagan sentenced Brian Porter Wednesday to up to 20 years in prison for armed robbery on Jan. 23.

He'll have to serve that after a six year sentence he received last week on a burglary charge stemming from the theft of numerous firearms from the Rancharrah estate in south Reno in April.

Washoe County prosecutor Chris Hicks says Brown had just been released from prison after a 2012 conviction for attempted burglary and a violent attack in another victim's home. He says Brown pointed a rifle at the gas station clerk when he and two other men made off with nearly $1,000.
