LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police are investigating after a man who was shot prompted a four-vehicle crash.

Authorities say the crash happened about 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of South Eastern Avenue and the I-215 freeway.

Police say a white man in his 30s was shot multiple times while he was inside his vehicle and he later crashed his car. The accident prompted a chain reaction involving other cars.

The man was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The other drivers were not injured.

Police Lt. Ray Steiber says detectives are investigating whether the shooting is related to other reports of gunfire about 10 minutes earlier near South Las Vegas Boulevard and Warm Springs Road.
