LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say six teenagers and pre-teens with special needs suffered bumps and bruises when a bus crashed into a utility pole in Los Angeles.

Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey says the six young passengers and the driver of the bus were taken to a hospital for evaluation Wednesday morning. All the injuries are described as minor.

The crash occurred in the Monterey Hills area.

The utility pole came down, bringing with it several wires. Department of Water and Power crews were called to help with repairs.

Humphrey says the bus apparently hit parked vehicles before hitting the pole.
