LAS VEGAS (AP) — A former mail sorter for the U.S. Postal Service in Las Vegas has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for stealing credit cards and other financial information from the mail.

Jerome Harvey pleaded guilty in November to one count of aggravated identify theft in a plea agreement with federal prosecutors.

U.S. District Judge Kent Dawson sentenced the 34-year-old Las Vegas man to prison on Tuesday along with one year's supervised release. The judge also ordered Harvey to pay a total of nearly $6,000 in restitution to 12 people he stole information from to gain access to their accounts between May and July 2011.
