NEW YORK (AP) — A hollering, agitated passenger who ignored pleas to calm down spurred a pilot to divert a New York-to-Las-Vegas JetBlue plane to Detroit over the weekend.

That's according to a statement from JetBlue Airways Corp. and a passenger video that ABC News obtained of Saturday's incident.

JetBlue says the passenger became unruly, and the captain decided to land in Detroit around 8:30 a.m. Saturday out of "an abundance of caution."

The video shows a man standing, gesticulating and shouting, his remarks unclear, while a female voice exclaims, "Dad, stop it!" Flight attendants subdued the man and restrained him with plastic hand ties.

JetBlue says authorities in Detroit took him into custody. The plane left for Las Vegas about two hours later, arriving around 11:30 a.m.
