CARSON CITY, Nev. (KRNV, & AP) — The Nevada Supreme Court building in Carson City has been evacuated after a white powdery substance was found in the mail.

The suspicious substance was discovered in an envelope about 1 p.m. Thursday, and authorities are working to determine what it is.

Carson City Fire Chief Stacey Giomi says two people who were in the immediate area of the envelope were taken to a separate room but aren't showing any adverse symptoms.

Giomi says crews have shut down the ventilation system while the substance is tested.

Hazardous materials crews cleared the building just before 4:00pm.
